Patna: East Champaran cyclists showcased their dominance on the final day of the 16th Bihar State Senior, Junior, Sub Junior, and Youth Boys and Girls Road Cycling Championship, held under the aegis of the Cycling Association of Bihar. The event, organised by the East Champaran District Cycling Association, saw local cyclists securing multiple podium finishes and emerging as the overall champions.
In the women’s 32 km mass start event, Baby Kumari from East Champaran claimed first place, with Shweta Kumari, also from East Champaran, finishing in third place.
In the junior boys’ 24 km mass start event, Deepak Kumar of East Champaran secured second place, while in the junior girls’ category, Appi Kumari of East Champaran finished third.
In the sub-junior girls’ 8 km race, East Champaran cyclists performed impressively, with Srishti Kumari taking second place and Siya Kumari finishing in third.
East Champaran was declared the overall winner of the championship, while the Siwan team was the runner-up.
The winners were honoured with medals and mementos, presented by Dr Hena Chandra, Vice President of the Cycling Association of Bihar, alongside other dignitaries. The event was attended by Dr Kaushal Kishore Singh, Secretary of the Cycling Association of Bihar; Siddharth Verma, Secretary of the East Champaran District Cycling Association; and a large number of cycling enthusiasts.
