Patna: Dr Sanjay Kumar Sinha Memorial Under-15 School Cricket got off to a gala start on Saturday at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here. In the inaugural match, Sardar Patel Cricket Academy defeated Learning School of Cricket by three wickets with the help of Vikas Krishna’s brilliant century.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr (Prof.) Praveen Kumar, Principal of BD College. Inaugurating the tournament, he said that sports is very important for human life, which gives us the message of brotherhood.
Dr Vinay Kumar Sinha, Dr Ramakant Srivastava, Ravi Ranjan, BCA’s senior umpire Ashish Sinha, Dr. Virendra Mandal, Anuj Singh, Ranjit Kumar, Saumya Kriti and others were present at opening function. Organising secretary Santosh Tiwari welcomed the guests.
Learning School of Cricket won the toss and batting first scored 194 runs for nine wickets in 25 overs. In reply, Sardar Patel Cricket Academy won the match by scoring 197 runs for seven wickets in 22.1 overs. Vikas Krishna of Sardar Patel Cricket Academy scored 110 runs with the help of 14 fours and 7 sixes.
Vikas Krishna was awarded the player of the match award by umpires Ashish Sinha and Rimjhim Kumar.
