Patna: Danish Malewar hit a triple century (300 not out) and Jagjot’s brilliant batting (79 runs) helped Vidarbha declare their innings for 691 runs on the second day of the Cooch Behar Trophy match against Bihar at Urja Stadium here on Sunday. At the end of the second day’s play, Bihar scored 125 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
On the second day of the match, Malewar who started the day with his individual score of 159 not out, hit a brilliant triple century. Captain Faiz got out after scoring 40 runs. After that, Jagjot, who came to support Danish, scored 79 runs in 62 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes. Vidarbha declared their innings after lunch at 691 for the loss of five wickets. Danish completed 300 runs in 338 balls with the help of six sixes and 32 fours. For Bihar, Priyam Choubey took 2 for 142, Krishna Pathak took 107 and Aditya Raj took 1-1 for 174.
Bihar had poor start in their first innings and lost four wickets for 60 runs. Later Harshit and Manu put on an unbeaten partnership of 65 runs for the fifth wicket to take the team’s score to 125 at the end of the day’s play. Harshit was batting on 44 while Manu was on 21.
