Bhagalpur: A Customer Service Point (CSP) operator of a private bank was shot dead by unidentified criminals last evening near Faga Nawadih village located under Bandhuwa Kurawa police station of Bounsi block in Banka district.
The victim has been identified as Narendra Murmu (25), resident of Kaniket Santhal Tola. The deceased used to run CSP of said private bank from his residence located in the village.
Crimeast evening while Murmu was returning home on a bike from Banka, he was intercepted from behind by two motorcycle borne criminals near Faga Nawadih village. After intercepting him, at gun point criminals started looting cash victim had in his possession.
Murmu was shot dead by criminals as he tried to resist criminals in order to prevent them from looting his cash. The victim died at spot in firing by the criminals. Informed about the incident police arrived at place of occurrence and later they sent dead body of Murmu to referral hospital.
The firearm used by criminals for firing on victim somehow fell down while they were fleeing after committing the crime. In course of investigation at place of occurrence the firearm stated to be country made revolver was recovered by police.
Soon after the incident police efforts started for identification and arrest of the criminals. However as per information till late last evening police efforts failed to yield any result. Meanwhile incident has sent shock wave among family members and neighbourhood people of victim.
