Patna: Arwal defeated Patna by 112 runs at Railway Ground in Sonpur and Muzaffarpur defeated Samastipur by six wickets in Randhir Verma Inter-District Under-19 Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Arwal’s team posted a score of 300 runs for the loss of six wickets, while Patna’s team, in reply, was bowled out for just 188 runs in 42.1 overs.
For Arwal, Yash Raj and Aditya got out after scoring 80 runs each. Pankaj Kumar (62), Ranu Kumar (26) and Dipesh Kumar (16) were the other run-getters. Abhinav took 2 wickets for Patna and Gulshan, Mohammad and Rahul took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 301 runs, the Patna were all out for 188 runs. Gulshan (30), Akash Verma (27), Animesh (58) were the notable contributors. For Arwal, Pankaj took 4 wickets, Aditya Anand took 3 wickets and Aditya Kumar took 2 wickets.
In the match between Muzaffarpur and Samastipur in Samastipur, Samastipur lost by six wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Samastipur were all out for 104 runs in 30.5 overs. Amit (40), Abhay (19) and Vaibhav (13) were the notable contributors. For Muzaffarpur, Sourav bowled brilliantly taking 6 wickets, Vashudev took 2 wickets and Aditya and Diwakar took one wicket each.
Chasing 105 to win, Muzaffarpur scored 109 runs for 4 wickets in just 28.3 overs. Abhinav scored 42 runs from Muzaffarpur and Aman played an unbeaten inning of 26 runs.For Samastipur, Vikrant got two and Robin and Suman got one wicket each. Sourav of Muzaffarpur was declared man of the match.
