Patna: Cricket Warriors defeated Gloria XI by 43 runs in the 6th Sardar Patel Birth Anniversary T20 U-17 Champions Trophy organised under “Play for Unity of India” to celebrate the 147th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Urja Stadium here on Tuesday.
Batting first, Cricket Warriors scored 141 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply Gloria XI were bowled out for 98 runs in 19.1 overs.
Cricket Warriors batsman Shivam made 34 runs. Gloria XI’s bowler Akarsh took 2 wickets while Abhishek took 1 wicket.
In reply, chasing the target, Gloria XI was all out for 98 runs in 19.1 overs.
Gloria XI’s Kumar Shan contributed 36 runs while Shubham Kumar scored 12 runs. Warriors’ bowler Sarvesh took four wickets and Devansh took 2 wickets.
In the U-25 category of the same tournament, Arwal XI beat SPCA Super Kings by nine wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, the SPCA were all out for 107 runs in 19.3 overs. Aarush Kumar contributed 32 runs and Kumar Aryan made 19 runs.
Arwal XI’s bowlers Roshan took the maximum 3 wickets while Prakash Ojha took two wickets.
In reply, Arwal XI achieved the winning target losing one wicket in 15 overs. Batsman Vedant top scored with 46 runs while Aditya played a useful innings of 42 runs. Shubham Kumar got one wicket.
Social worker Bittu Singh gave away the player of the match award to Sarvesh, who excelled in the Under-17 age group.
In the under-25 age group, player of the match award was given to Roshan Kumar. The award was given by Dharamveer Patwardhan.
