CK Nayudu Trophy: Bihar Post 197, Jharkhand 49 for No Loss on Day 1

Patna: The CK Nayudu Trophy Under-23 match between Bihar and Jharkhand commenced at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. At the end of Day 1, Bihar managed 197 runs in 74.5 overs in their first innings, while Jharkhand responded strongly, reaching 49/0 in 15 overs without losing a wicket.

Bihar’s Batting Performance

Winning the toss, Bihar opted to bat first, but their innings saw a mix of steady contributions and quick dismissals. Akash Raj was the standout performer with a crucial 59-run knock, while Deepak added 37 runs. Other key contributions came from Shashank Upadhyay (31), Manish Kumar (27), and Suman Kumar (12).

Jharkhand’s Bowling Attack

Jharkhand’s bowlers put up an impressive show, restricting Bihar to a modest total. Abhishek led the attack with 4 wickets, while Sahil Raj and Om Singh picked up 2 wickets each. Shubham Sharma chipped in with 1 wicket.

Jharkhand’s Strong Start with the Bat

In response, Jharkhand’s openers made a steady start, putting on 49 runs in 15 overs without any loss. Shikhar Mohan (23)* and Aryan Hooda (24)* remained unbeaten at the crease.

Bihar’s Bowling Yet to Make an Impact

Despite trying four bowlers, Bihar struggled to find an early breakthrough. Suraj Kashyap (7 overs), Akash Raj (4 overs), Suman Kumar (3 overs), and Rohit (1 over) bowled in Jharkhand’s innings but remained wicketless by the close of play.

With Jharkhand off to a solid start, Day 2 promises an intense battle as Bihar looks to fight back and make early inroads into Jharkhand’s batting lineup.
