Patna: Chhattisgarh trounced Bihar by an innings and 61 runs on the fourth day of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Wednesday.
Chasing an impeccable 173 runs to put Chhattisgarh bat again with six wickets in hand, Bihar batsmen could manage to score 155 runs before being all out in the second session of the fourth day.
Bihar had made 160 runs in their first innings and 155 runs in the second innings while Chhattisgarh made 376 runs in their first innings.
Resuming the day on 43 for the loss of four wickets, Sarman Nigrodh unbeaten 18 and Faheem Anwar (without opening the account) took the innings forward. The first wicket of the morning fell when Faheem Anwar got out after scoring 14 runs. Gaurav Kumar, who came in his place, could not do much and returned to the pavilion after scoring five runs.
After this Suraj Kashyap supported Sarman Nigrodh. There was a partnership of 29 runs between the two. Bihar got the seventh blow in the form of Sarman Nigrodh who got out after scoring 54 runs in 97 balls with the help of seven fours. The Bihar tail-enders could not do much and Bihar second innings folded for 155 runs. Suraj Kashyap scored 46 runs off 30 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
For Chhattisgarh, Vijay Yadav took 4/17, Gagandeep Singh 2/17, Deepak Singh 1/32, SK Chadda 2/41 and Satyam Dubey 1/27.
