Chhattisgarh take control of match against Bihar in Vijay Merchant Trophy

Patna: Chhattisgarh took  241 runs lead with still five wickets in hands in their second innings on the second day of Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Bihar being played at Railway Ground in Vadodara on Saturday. At the end of second day’s play, Chhattisgarh were 92 for the loss of five wickets in their second innings.

Earlier, Bihar scored 160 all out in their first innings, replying to Chhattisgarh’s first innings score of 309. With this Chhattisgarh took a lead of 149 runs. In the Bihar’s first innings wicketkeeper batsman Taufique top scored with 47 runs while Agastya made 45 runs. For Chhattisgarh, Dhananjay Nayak and Aditya Agrawal took four wickets each.

Bihar bowlers kept tight leash on Chhattisgarh batsmen in the second innings and did not allow them to collect runs freely barring first innings centurion Yash Kumar Vardha, who scored 39 runs. For Bihar Asif Ahmad took three wickets for 36 runs off 13 runs.
