Patna: Chhattisgarh bowlers restricted hosts Bihar to 159/9 in the first innings on the first day of their multi-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday.
Chhattisgarh won the toss and asked Bihar to bat first, Bihar openers Rajesh and Sraman Nigrodh started well putting on 58 runs partnership for the first wicket. Nigrodh was to depart first scoring 20 runs. After that the other opener Rajesh also got out when Bihar’s total was 69. However, the third wicket pair of Ankit Raj and captain Akash Raj took the team’s score to 108 when Ankit Raj got out scoring 25 runs. After that wickets fell at regular interval and Bihar were 159 for the loss of 9 wickets off 53 overs.
For Chhattisgarh Deepak and Gagandeep took three wickets each.
Earlier, the match got delayed start as pitch was damp. It is learnt that some miscreants poured water on the pitch last night. However, Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has said that the match got delayed start due to bad weather.
