Patna: Chhattisgarh defeated Bihar by four wickets in the fourth match of the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Stumps Cricket Ground, Hyderabad. Bihar will play their final match against Kerala on 12th October.
After losing the toss, Bihar were put in to bat and managed to post a total of 197 runs in 45.2 overs. In response, Chhattisgarh chased down the target, scoring 201 runs for six wickets in just 34.1 overs.
Bihar’s innings saw captain Md Alam score 51 runs and Aditya Sinha top-scoring with 63 runs. Despite their efforts, the rest of the batting line-up faltered, leaving Bihar unable to post a higher total. Opener Prithvi Raj, who had high expectations, was dismissed for 14 runs, while other contributions included Taufiq (10), Hemant Singh (16), and Shashwat Giri (12).
Chhattisgarh’s bowling attack was led by Vikalp Tiwari, who claimed six wickets, while Dhananjay, Rudra, Faiz Khan, and Shahil each took one wicket.
In their chase, Chhattisgarh stumbled early, losing two wickets for just 27 runs. However, a solid performance from Sahil (60 runs), Alok Kumar (64 runs), and an unbeaten 41 from Vikalp Tiwari secured the victory with six wickets to spare.
Bihar’s bowlers Bharat Chittoria and Satyam Kumar took two wickets each, while Vasudev and Ayush picked up one wicket apiece.
