Patna, August 4: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday said all central investigating agencies were like “toys” for the BJP, the major partner in the ruling National Democratic Alliance Government at the Centre.

Yadav, who is the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly, told reporters here that the investigating agencies like ED, CBI or IT had been converted into “slaves” entrusted with the task of intimidating political opponents.

“They are working as BJP cells,” he said and claimed that it was not possible for them to conduct fair probe.

Yadav, whose family and close aides are embroiled in a number of cases lodged by the CBI and the ED, alleged that “the BJP is trying buy out its opponents who sells and scare who fears.”

“Agency officers, who serve the agenda of political vendetta, are being awarded with promotions. They have become ‘ghulams (slaves)’ of their political masters, failing to catch the big fish. We are not scared of any probe. We would like to remind these agencies — where is Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi? No one is looking for them, they look only for people from TMC, Congress, RJD, or SP,” Yadav said.

His statement comes a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) temporarily sealed the office of Young Indian Pvt Limited (YIL) located on the premises of Congress-owned newspaper National Herald in New Delhi as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation.

Recently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad’s close aide Bhola Yadav in connection with the land-for-job scam in the railways.

CBI sleuths also raided four premises — two each in Darbhanga and Patna — belonging to Bhola Yadav, who was officer on special duty (OSD) to then railway minister Prasad between 2004 and 2009.

Earlier in May this year, the CBI had conducted searches on 16 premises linked to Tejashwi Yadav’s father, Lalu Prasad, and his family members in connection with the land-for-job scam.

An FIR was subsequently lodged in which Prasad, his wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Yadav, their daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, besides 15 others, including unknown public servants and some aspirants, who were given jobs in exchange for land at a throwaway price.
