BJP MP Ajay Nishad Joins Congress

Nishad May Contest Elections from Muzaffarpur on Congress Ticket

By Vishwapati

Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a major setback before the Lok Sabha elections as BJP MP from Muzaffarpur Ajay Nishad, resigned from all posts of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Angered by being denied ticket in the Lok Sabha elections, Ajay Nishad announced his resignation and met Congress State President Akhilesh Singh and joined the Congress. In such a situation, it is believed that Ajay Nishad will be the Congress candidate from Muzaffarpur.

Ajay Nishad, who was MP from Muzaffarpur seat of Bihar for 10 years in the Modi wave, resigned on Tuesday. He also removed the ‘Modi’s family’ tag from X.

Ajay Nishad can be the candidate from Muzaffarpur from the Grand Alliance on the Congress ticket. Congress may give ticket to Ajay Nishad as he has been the Muzaffarpur MP continuously since 2014. In 2014, he defeated the current state president of Congress, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, by around 2.22 lakh votes.

Ajay Nishad had contested the election on an RJD ticket from the Kudhni assembly seat in Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha constituency and had to face defeat. After this, in 2019, Ajay Nishad defeated Mukesh Sahni’s party candidate, Raj Bhushan Chaudhary Nishad. However, this time the BJP has made Raj Bhushan Chaudhary Nishad its candidate from Muzaffarpur. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether Ajay Nishad will become MP for the third time or not.
