Bihar’s Raunak Mishra assured of medal in Senior National Boxing

Patna: Raunak Mishra of Bihar has confirmed his medal by reaching the semi-finals of 75 kg weight category in the Senior National Boxing Championship being held in in Shillong, Meghalaya. In the quarterfinals, Raunak Mishra defeated Kunal Ghorpare of Maharashtra 4-1. Raunak Mishra is a resident of the Darbhanga district of Bihar.

Giving this information, Boxing Association of Bihar Secretary Rajeev Kumar Singh said that earlier in the pre-quarterfinal, he had defeated Gaurav Visht of Uttarakhand 5-0 and Ganesh of Odisha 5-0 in first round. Now, he will meet Ishmit Singh of Railways in the semi-finals. 350 boxers in 13 weight categories are participating in this championship.

On the achievement of Raunak Mishra, Minister of Art, Culture and Youth Department of Bihar Government Jitendra Kumar Rai, President of Bihar Olympic Association Abdul Bariki Siddiqui, Chief Patron of Boxing Association of Bihar Tarkishore Prasad (former Deputy Chief Minister), Art, Culture and Youth Principal Secretary of the Department, Harjot Kaur Bamhra, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran and Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority Pankaj Raj congratulated him and extended their best wishes.
