Patna: Two talented volleyball players from Bihar, Anuj Kumar Singh and Sushant Singh, have been selected for the training camp of the Indian team, which will participate in the World Volleyball Championship 2023, to be held in Argentina in August.
Giving this information, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Bihar State Sports Authority, Raveendran Sankaran, said that on the basis of talent and performance at the Sports Authority of India’s Bangalore training centre on June 30 and July 1, they were selected from this training camp. The selection camp was organised to select the players for the Under-19 National Volleyball Team. “We are sure that both the talented players from Bihar will definitely get selected for the national team and will make Bihar proud”, Sankaran said.
Bihar State Sports Authority Director and Chief Secretary Pankaj Raj said that not only has Bihar been proud of the selection of Anuj and Sushant in the national team training camp, but the morale of other players here will also be lifted, and they will get inspiration to improve their performance in their respective disciplines.
The Government of Bihar and the Bihar State Sports Authority are making every possible effort and cooperation for the all-round development of the sportspersons here, as a result of which today the sportspersons of Bihar are being selected for national and international level competitions and are also becoming successful.
Expressing happiness over the selection of Anuj Kumar Singh and Sushant Singh in the training camp of the national volleyball team, Bihar’s Art, Culture, and Youth Department Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai and Additional Chief Secretary Harjot Kaur Bamhra heartily congratulated both the players and extended their best wishes for future success.
