Patna: Sixteen women players have been selected for Bihar kabaddi team to participate in the 36th National Games to be held in five in five cities of Gujarat from September 27 to October 10. The players were selected after day-long selection trials at Patliputra Sports Complex ground here on Saturday.
Announcing the names of 16 players, Bihar State Kabaddi Association secretary Kumar Vijay Singh said that the players were selected on the recommendation of selectors. The selectors were Asiad gold medalist NIS kabaddi coaches Rajiv Kumar Singh, Chandni Kumari, Bhavesh Kumar and Abhinav Kumar Singh. Bihar Olympic Association observer Syed Imtiaz Hussain was present on the occasion.
Kumar Vijay said that a training camp for the selected players would be organised soon.
Selected players: Shama Praveen, Neelam, Sonia, Ritu (All East Central Railway), Komal Kumari, Rita Kumari, Rupam Kumari, Nancy Priya, Suruchi Kumari (All Patna), Shweta Kumari, Aarti Kumari (Begsurai), Nidhi Kumari (Gaya), Gayatri Kumari (Sitamarhi), Anshika Shandilya (Lakhisarai), Gungun Chauhan (Purnia) and Indu Kumari (Nawada).
