Patna: Preparations have been completed for the 4th Junior National Boys Boxing Championship beginning on Saturday (December 17, 2022) at Patliputra Sports Complex here. The Boxing Association of Bihar is hosting the tournament under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India.
According to Chairman of the Organising Committee and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad the championship will be inaugurated by Bihar Building Construction Minister Ashok Kumar Chaudhary. Bihar Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha will be present as the chief guest on this occasion.
MLA of Bankipur Assembly Constituency Nitin Nabin, MLA of Kumhrar Assembly Constituency Arun Kumar Sinha and MLA of Digha Assembly Constituency Sanjeev Chaurasia will be the special guests at the opening function.
Advisor to Chief Minister Anjani Kumar Singh, Secretary, Art, Culture and Youth Department, Bandana Preyasi, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran, Director (Student and Youth Welfare) of Art, Culture and Youth Department, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal and Pankaj Kumar Raj, Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority will present on the opening function as guests of honour.
Boxing Association of Bihar Secretary Rajeev Kumar Singh said that the matches will be held on two rings. Both the rings have been installed in the indoor hall of Patliputra Sports Complex. This ring has recently been procured by the Government of Bihar. Both these rings are of the level of Olympic and Commonwealth matches.
Meanwhile, BBA secretary has announced Bihar team for this championship.
