Bihar register 5-wicket win over Hyderabad in U-25 State A Trophy

Patna: Vikas Jha (six wickets) bowled brilliantly and Hrithik Rajesh (75 runs, 86 balls, 11 fours, 1 six) batted brilliantly as Bihar won their Men’s Under-25 State A Trophy by five wickets against Hyderabad  at Dr Soni Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday.

Earlier, Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first.  Hyderabad scored 156 runs losing all wickets in 40 overs. In response, Bihar won the match by scoring 160 runs for five wickets in 38.3 overs.

Vikas Jha proved his usefulness for the team and proved his talent by taking six wickets and prevented Hyderabad from scoring big. For Hyderabad, MS Nikhil Naidu scored 29, Rishith Reddy scored 39, Prithvi scored 28 runs.

In reply, Bihar had a poor start and lost two wickets for 24 runs. Piyush Kumar Singh returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs and Deepak zero runs. Ritik Rajesh saved the Bihar innings from utter disaster and batted freely to counter Hyderabad attack. An important 89-run partnership between Akash Raj and Hrithik Rajesh pulled Bihar out of  the woods and put on victory path. Akash Raj was first to go scoring 27 runs off 62 balls with one six. After that Harsh Raj Puru gave a good support to Ritik Rajesh.  Bihar’s fourth wicket fell in the form of Ritik Rajesh, who played an important innings of 75 runs in 86 balls with the help of 11 fours and 1 six. Later, Harsh Raj Puru and Suraj Kashyap guided Bihar to victory. Harsh Raj Puru scored 16 not out in 47 balls with the help of 1 four and Suraj Kashyap scored 17 not out in 26 balls with the help of 3 fours.
