Patna: Land survey work is currently underway in Bihar, with the state government targeting its completion by December 2026. Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi provided this update in the assembly today. The minister also addressed the challenges faced during the land survey process and outlined the ongoing efforts to overcome them. Additionally, he shared details about the resolution of mutation cases and plans to establish a separate online complaint management system for land-related issues in Bihar.
Minister Sanjay Saraogi said that a deadline of March 31, 2025 has been set for raiyats (landholders) to upload or submit self-declaration details in Form-2 and genealogical information in Form-3. He also highlighted a recent technical issue with the server, which had hindered the survey work for the past four to five months. This problem has now been resolved, with a divisional server put in place. Further decisions will be made based on applications received from various regions.
The minister said that the government is closely monitoring middlemen and corrupt officials involved in the process, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found engaging in malpractice. Under the “Abhiyan Basera” initiative, the government is providing five decimal residential land to eligible families from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes. This effort is part of the broader land reforms and welfare measures being implemented in the state.
