Patna: Bihar bowlers led by skipper Ashutosh Aman bowled Meghalaya out for 134 runs in the first innings, giving Bihar a crucial first innings lead of 294 runs. Despite having a lead of 294 runs, Bihar did not enforce a follow-on and chose to bat in the second innings. At the end of the second day’s play, Bihar were 28 for no loss in their second innings and Bihar’s lead increased to 322 runs with all the wickets in their Ranji Trophy plate group semi-final against the hosts, Meghalaya, at the MCA Ground (Polo Ground) in Shillong on Wednesday.
Earlier, resuming at overnight 329 for six, Bihar were all out for 428 runs in their first innings. Veer Pratap Singh struck a half-century (50 runs) for Bihar.
Meghalaya had a poor start, losing two wickets for only 8 runs. A 57-run third-wicket partnership raised hopes of Meghalaya fighting back, but after the fall of Kishan Lyndoh, who made 32 runs, Meghalaya’s innings disintegrated. Punit Bisht (38) and R B Bishnoi Jr. (40 not out) attempted to cut the lead in the later part of the innings.
