Patna: Chhattisgarh vs Bihar match under Group B of Ranji Trophy ended in a draw at the Moinul Haq Stadium here. Bihar scored 108 runs in its first innings while in the second innings it scored 226 runs for seven wickets. Chhattisgarh scored 329 runs for two wickets in its first innings. In this match, the game was disrupted a lot due to bad weather and Bihar got the advantage.

The second thing in this match was that the players of Bihar batted better in the second innings as compared to the first innings. First, Sarman Nigrodh and Babul Kumar gave a good start by scoring half-centuries. On the fourth day of play, the first day started with 144 runs for 3 wickets on the third day. Akash Raj and Sakibul Gani took the innings forward. Bihar got the first blow on the fourth day in the form of Sakibul Gani and after adding 14 runs to the score on the third day, he was out LBW on the ball of Saurabh Majumdar. At this time, the team’s score was 165 runs. After this, Vipin Saurabh came to support Akash Raj. There was a partnership of 20 runs between the two but the innings faltered once as soon as Akash Raj was out.

Bihar suffered its fifth blow on the team score of 185 runs. Akash Raj was out after scoring 31 runs. Vipin Saurabh was standing at one end. After this came Sachin Kumar Singh. He was out after scoring 6 runs off 16 balls. Captain Ashutosh Aman faced 12 balls and returned to the pavilion without opening the account. After this, Vipin Saurabh got the support of Veer Pratap Singh and tried to avoid the defeat of the innings and draw the match by holding on to both the wickets. When Bihar was 5 runs behind Chhattisgarh’s first innings lead and the game was stopped due to bad light, and after that, the game could not start and ultimately the umpire declared the match a draw. Vipin Saurabh scored 30 not out in 107 balls and Veer Pratap Singh scored 4 not out. Veer Pratap Singh played 35 balls. He considered it more important to hold on to wickets than score runs, and he was successful in getting a draw.

In the second innings, for Chhattisgarh, Gagandeep Singh took 3 wickets for 42 runs, Vasudev took 1 wicket for 42 runs, Saurabh Majumdar took 2 wickets for 61 runs and JP Bute took 1 wicket for 40 runs. Ravi Kiran of Chhattisgarh was given the Player of the Match award.
