Patna: Bihar clinched a grand double in the 26th Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship winnings the boys and girls doubles titles on the concluding day of the meet at Patliputra Sports Complex here on Friday.
In the boys doubles Bihar beat Rajasthan in the final while in the girls’ doubles final Bihar beat Andhra Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka bagged the joint third position in the boys’ doubles event while Rajasthan and Gujarat claimed the joint third position in the girls doubles events.
Earlier, in the Regu event of the boys section, Delhi emerged champions defeating Manipur. Bihar and Odisha were joint third in the regu event.
In the girls’ regu event, Haryana became champion defeating Manipur. Bihar and Kerala were joint third.
In the boys’ team event, Delhi became the champion defeating Manipur. Bihar and Tamil Nadu bagged the joint third position.
In the girls’ team event, Manipur won the title defeating Haryana. Bihar and Odisha got the joint third position.
Later, chief guest of the closing ceremony Alok Raj (I.P.S.), Director General, Police Training, Government of Bihar and Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran jointly gave away the prizes.
