Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday distributed provisional appointment letters to 51,389 teachers selected under the third Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-3). During a ceremony at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, 10,739 teachers were personally handed their letters by the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers.
In the event, CM Nitish Kumar first presented an appointment letter to Nutan Kumari of Arwal district, who has been selected to teach Classes 11–12. Kumari previously worked at an IT firm before opting to pursue a teaching career in Bihar.
The recruitment drive, organised by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), saw 51,389 candidates provisionally appointed to teaching roles across the state. While 10,739 teachers from districts including Patna, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Arwal, Saran, Vaishali, and Muzaffarpur received their letters at Gandhi Maidan, the remaining 30 districts hosted local ceremonies at their respective headquarters. Approximately 100 teachers were personally handed their letters by the Chief Minister and ministers during the main event.
Sahila, Director of Primary Education, confirmed that district magistrates had been instructed to facilitate the distribution process following guidelines issued by the state government. The appointments mark a significant step in addressing Bihar’s educational staffing needs.
