Bihar Blue Clinch Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cup Women’s T20 Cricket

Patna: Bihar Blue defeated Bihar Red by 8 wickets to win the T20 Women’s Cricket Championship for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cup at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday. The tournament was organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sports Cell (Bihar) to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Batting first, Bihar Red scored 122 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Captain Yashita Singh scored 81 runs with the help of 8 fours and one six. Shobhana Saket scored 11 runs, Prachi Kumari scored 21 runs with the help of 4 fours. Bihar Blue bowlers Pooja Kumari and Doli Kumari of took one wicket each.

In reply, the Bihar Blue scored 123 runs in 19.1 overs losing 2 wickets. Andri Rani scored 10 runs with the help of 2 fours while Arya Seth scored 63 runs with the help of 7 fours. Shikha Singh scored an unbeaten 41 with the help of 3 fours and one six. Yashita Singh of Bihar Red took two wickets.

Umpires of the match were Surendra Narayan Singh and Rajeev Nandan while scorer was Raja Kumar. Mrityunjay Jha did the running commentary.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Council Samrat Chaudhary and BJP’s National secretary Rituraj Sinha jointly gave away the prizes.

Speaking on the occasion, Samrat Chaudhary said that the players of all the eight teams involved in this women’s cricket championship organised by the BJP Sports Cell on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, showed excellent performance and showed great sportsmanship.

He demanded from the Bihar government to provide good grounds in every district for the players of state so that they can take their game to a height. He said that the BJP Sports Cell organises all the sports continuously, which is very good for this state.

BJP’s National secretary Rituraj Sinha said that there is no dearth of talented players in Bihar, just this type of platform should be provided to them so that they can improve their game and make Bihar famous in the country and the world.  Sinha said that for the last three years, the BJP Sports Cell has been paying true tribute to respected Atal Bihari ji by organising Women’s Cricket Championship on his birth anniversary.

State convenor of BJP Sports Cell Satish Raju said that all the teams performed very well’ He also wished all the players a bright future.

On the occasion, Bhishmapitamah of Bihar cricket Adhikari MM Prasad was honoured with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Gaurav Samman.
