Katihar Register Commanding 106-Run Victory Over Madhepura in BCA Men’s Senior One Day Trophy

Patna: In the BCA Men’s Senior One Day Trophy Tournament, organised by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), a single match took place today between Katihar and Madhepura at the Vidya Vihar Cricket Ground in Purnia. Katihar emerged victorious, defeating Madhepura by a significant margin of 106 runs.

Electing to bat first, Katihar posted a formidable total of 339 runs for the loss of eight wickets within the allotted 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ankit Singh led the charge with a solid 88 runs off 97 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and one six. Ashwini Kumar contributed a commendable 99 runs from 108 balls, striking 12 fours, while captain Suraj Kumar played a blistering knock of 56 runs off just 30 balls, featuring eight fours and two sixes. On the bowling front, Peter Mardi was the standout performer, claiming five wickets for 33 runs in his 10-over spell, which included one maiden over. Harsh, Aman, and Hazrat Ali chipped in with one wicket each.

In response, Madhepura managed to score 233 runs for eight wickets in their 50 overs. Patel Vikas Kumar top-scored with 72 runs off 90 balls, hitting 10 fours, while Mohammad Shamsher Alam added 61 runs from 62 deliveries, including six fours. However, no other batsmen made notable contributions. Captain Ehsan Ansari was the pick of the bowlers for Madhepura, taking three wickets for 49 runs in his 10 overs. Shamsher Alam, Omkar Kumar, Jishu Qureshi, Arnav, and Sudarshan each claimed one wicket.

Katihar’s dominant performance with both bat and ball ensured a comprehensive victory, solidifying their position in the tournament.
