Begusarai: On the basis of brilliant centuries by Sachin Bhardwaj (105 runs) and Suryavansh (113 runs) and brilliant bowling by Sachin (6 wickets), Bhagalpur started its campaign by winning 113 runs over Banka in the BCA Senior Cricket Tournament.
In the match played at Barauni Fertilizer ground in Begusarai, Bhagalpur won the toss and decided to bat first. Bhagalpur’s three batsmen Basukinath Mishra, Sachin Kumar and Anand Kumar returned to the pavilion early after making small contributions. After this, opener Sachin Bhardwaj fully supported Suryavansh and both played century innings taking the team’s score to 312 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. Basukinath Mishra scored 16, Sachin Kumar scored 10 and Anand Kumar scored 15 runs.
Sachin Bhardwaj scored 105 runs in 124 balls with the help of 15 fours and Suryavansh scored 113 runs in 77 balls with the help of 13 fours and 5 sixes. Vikas Yadav played an inning of 11 runs and Abhishek Kumar played an unbeaten inning of 10 runs.
Sachin Kumar of Bhagalpur, who failed in batting, excelled in bowling and by taking 6 wickets, Banka’s team was all out for 199 runs in 42.2 overs.
For Banka, Harsh Kumar scored 12, Vineet Chaudhary scored 32, Sheikh Janisher Akhtar scored 32, Puneet Yadav scored 74, Sahil Chaudhary scored 18, Raj Kapoor scored 20 runs.
Apart from Sachin, Bhanu took two wickets and Vivek Kumar and Abhishek Kumar took 1 wicket each for Bhagalpur.
Man of the Match award was given to Sachin Kumar of Bhagalpur.
