Bengal post innings win over Bihar in Ranji Trophy

Patna: Bengal thrashed Bihar by an innings 204 runs in the Ranji Trophy match at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Chasing 316 runs to put Bengal bat again, Bihar were all out for 112 runs in their second innings.

Bihar scored 95 runs in their first innings while Bengal declared their first innings at 411 for five.

Bihar team played a total of seven Ranji matches in this season, in which Bihar had to face defeat in 4 matches while 3 matches ended in draw.

On the fourth day of the match, Bihar team, resuming their second innings at 32 for one, were all out for 112 runs. Bihar’s five batsmen Piyush, Raghavendra Pratap, Veer Pratap, Ashutosh Aman and YP Yadav could not open their accounts, while Mangal Mehrour scored 24 runs, Rishav scored 12 runs, Sakibul Gani scored 28 runs, Bipin Saurab scored 22 runs and Paramjeet Singh scored 23 runs.

For Bengal, Mukesh Kumar took 6 wickets and Suraj Jaiswal took 4 wickets.
