BAU Scientist Wasim Siddiqui Appointed Executive Director of World Food Preservation Centre

Bhagalpur: An assistant professor cum scientist of Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, Dr Mohammed Wasim Siddiqui has been appointed executive director of World Food Preservation Centre®LLC, USA.

As executive director he would have key role within the organization in planning and implementation including working out strategies of development. The World Food Preservation Centre®LLC established in 2015 is a collaborative partnership of twenty eight major universities involved in agricultural research and three agriculture institutes located in different continents.

Dr Mohammed Wasim Siddiqui

The constituents of the centre have been working together for prevention of post harvest food loss. The initiative of centre for food preservation particularly aims at reducing post harvest food loses in developing countries.

Dr Siddiqui a post harvest researcher is among top two percent researcher enlisted by Stanford University. Dr Siddiqui had been ambassador of World Food Preservation Centre since 2017.

He had served in Post Harvest Education Foundation of America in 2019 as member of board of directors. He has to his credit of editing two book series published by American Presses. Dr Siddiqui is editor in chief of Journal of Postharvest Technology.

Dr D R Singh, Vice Chancellor (VC), BAU expressing happiness over appointment of university scientist as executive director of World Food Preservation Centre expressed hope as board member of the organization Dr Siddiqui would valuably contribute in reducing postharvest food losses at global level.
