Patna: Basawan Park Cricket Academy beat YCC Sports Academy by 40 runs to lift the Randhir Verma Memorial Under-15 Cricket Tournament title at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Sunday.
Basawan Park Cricket Academy won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Basawan Park Cricket Academy scored 171 runs for the loss of six wickets off 25 overs. Ayush Singh made 61 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours. Anurag scored 31 runs with the help of four fours. Abhyudaya scored 12 runs with the help of three fours and Ayush scored 12 runs. Mr Extra contributed 39 runs.
Ashutosh took 3 wickets, giving away 37 runs and Priyanshu took one wicket, giving away 28 runs.
In reply, YCC Sports Academy could score only 131 runs in 23 overs losing all the wickets. For YCC, Piyush scored 37 runs with the help of four boundaries. Pratyush scored 30 runs while Akash scored 23 runs with the help of a six and a four. Prateek Sinha of Basawan Park took 4 wickets, giving away 31 runs, Ayush Patel took 3 wickets, giving away 20 runs; Ankit took 2 wickets, giving away 19 runs and Ayush Prakash took one wicket, giving away 32 runs.
Prateek Sinha of Basawan Park Cricket Academy was awarded the man of the match.
Other awards: Best Bowler- Saurabh Kumar of Learning School of Cricket; Best Batsman-Deepu Kumar of Exceed India High School; Best Wicket Keeper -Sanyam Shekhar of BPCA, Man of the Series- Akash Kumar of YCC; Best Fielder- Anurag of BPCA and Emerging Player of the Year- Nitin Kumar of YCC.

Umpires Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, Rajesh Ranjan, Yatendra Kumae Vaijnath Prasad and scorer Raja Kumar along with commentator Mrityunjay Jha were also awarded. Ward councillors Sharda Devi, Shashi Bhushan Yadav were also honoured.
Chief guest former BJP MP RK Sinha gave away the awards. Speaking on the occasion, he said today the development of the country is visible due to the development of the children. Children can do well if they reach the playground and they get a good playground.
Randhir Verma Foundation secretary Satish Raju said that many teams from Bihar displayed their best talent in the event going on for a fortnight. The prize-distribution function was presided over by foundation president Devendra Kumar Lal. Santosh Tiwari proposed a vote of thanks. Rajeev Ranjan Yadav, Vikas Singh, Sumit Sharma, Kanchan, Shankar Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Dr. Ravi Shankar, Ashish Sinha and Ashutosh were present on the occasion.
