Baroda beat Bihar by 36 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Patna:  Baroda beat Bihar by 36 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 organized by BCCI at Daly College ground in Indore on Sunday. This was Bihar second consecutive defeat in three matches. Bihar will next face Andhra Pradesh on October 18.

Batting first, Baroda scored 156 for five in 20 overs with the help of 52 not out from captain Ambati Rayudu. In reply, Bihar made 120 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Baroda won the toss and decided to bat first. Baroda had a bad start as they lost two wickets for 9 runs. Soon they lost their third wicket too. After that Vishnu Solanki and Ambati Rayudu together added an 56 runs for the fourth wicket as Baroda made 156 runs off 20 overs. Bhanu Paniya also gave full support to Rayudu. Rayudu and Bhanu remained unbeaten till the end of the innings.

Vishnu Solanki made 39, A Seth 8, Ambati Rayudu scored 52 not out and Bhanu scored 23 not out. Krunal Pandya scored 16 runs.

For Bihar, Abhijit Saket took one wicket for 37 runs, Anuj Raj took two wickets for 19 runs, Sachin Kumar Singh bagged one wicket for 15 runs and Raghavendra Pratap took one wicket for 32 runs.

In reply, Bihar scored 120 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. For Bihar, Piyush Kumar Singh scored 18, Mangal Mehroor made 1, Sachin Kumar Singh scored 38 off 35 balls with 6 fours, Sakibul Gani made 21 with the help of two fours off 27 balls, Rishabh Raj made 0, Harsh Vikram Singh made  1, Anuj Raj scored 3 not out and Ashutosh Aman scored 2 not out.

Baljit Singh Bihar, who was included in the team in place of Vipin Saurabh, returned to the pavilion without opening an account.

Apart from bowling, Raghavendra Pratap of Bihar too made his mark in batting. He played a quick-fire innings of 27 runs off 16 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.

For Baroda, Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets for 25 runs, NA Rathva took 3 wickets for 10 runs  and Elai Veriwala took 1 wicket for 21.
