Babul slams century in Lakhisarai victory

Jamui: Lakhisarai defeated Munger by 88 runs in the first match played under Angika Zone of Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament organized by Bihar Cricket Association.

Lakhisarai won the toss and decided to bat first. His decision proved correct when his opener batsman Babul Arya explosively contributed 101 runs hitting 14 fours in 119 balls.

Apart from him, no other batsman could play well. Manjeet Kumar scored 35 runs while Ryan Verma contributed 36 runs. In this way, Lakhisarai team was out after scoring 274 runs in the stipulated overs.

For Munger, Lakshmi Kumar and Rajneesh took three wickets each, while Akash Singh took two wickets.

Munger’s team, which came to chase the target, never appeared in the competition. Both of their opening batsmen, Divyanshu Anand and Abhigyan Singh were out after scoring 20 runs. After that, Prateek Singh (33 runs) and Anmol Vishwas (26 runs) tried hard to control the innings but Munger’s team was out after scoring 186 runs.

For Lakhisarai. Dheeraj Kumar, Suraj Kumar and Anirudh Kumar took two wickets each, while Bhaskar and Ryan took one wicket each.
