Avyay Sharma Leads Boys’ Category on Day Two of Bihar State Under-13 Chess Championship

Patna: On the second day of the Bihar State Under-13 Girls and Boys Chess Championship, organised by the Katihar District Chess Association under the aegis of the All Bihar Chess Association, Avyay Sharma of Patna emerged as the sole leader in the boys’ category with 5 points after five rounds. Five players are jointly in second place with 4.5 points.

In the girls’ category, Aadya Shri of Muzaffarpur and Arpita Singh of Bhojpur are jointly leading with 4.5 points, while six players are tied for second place with 4 points each.

During the fifth round in the boys’ category, the top two matches—Pratyush versus Ekansh Bhardwaj and Jayesh versus Tejas Shandilya—ended in draws. However, on the third board, Avyay Sharma defeated Akshat Raj, earning a perfect score of 5 out of 5 points.

In the girls’ category, the match between Aadya Shri and Arpita Singh on the top board also ended in a draw, allowing them to maintain their joint lead with a half-point advantage over the other players. Navya Goenka, Shalini Srivastava, Abhishree Deepu, Vishnu Priya Jha, Palchin Jain, and Charvi Baid are in joint second position, each with 4 points.
