Patna, July 24: Ashok Singh Memorial Inter School Chess Championships will begin on Monday under the aegis of Ashok Singh Foundation on the premises of Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel High School, Kankarbagh.
According to vice president of the school Shalini Singh the tournament will be held from July 25 to 27. The tournament will be held under the supervision of LMC Sports head Rupak Kumar and FIDE Instructor Rakesh Ranjan. School director Meenu Singh said that the tournament will be inaugurated by Patna District Sports Officer Om Prakash at 11 am. Around 95 to 100 school boys and girls have confirmed their participation in the competition.
She said that certificate will be given to the all participating players. Special prizes will be given to the boys and girls players who get first to sixth place. On the eve of the launch of the competition, director Meenu Singh along with FIDE Instructor and LMC Sports head took full stock of the preparations.
