Bihar Sharif, June 5: Owing to the brilliant performances of Ankit Kumar (5 wickets) and Mohit Kumar (91 runs), Nalanda defeated Jehanabad by 2 wickets in Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament Magadh Zone on Wednesday.
Winning the toss and batting first in the match played at the local Nalanda Cricket Ground, Jehanabad scored 224 runs in 39.5 overs losing 10 wickets.
For Jehanabad, Sunny contributed 59 runs, Anukul 65, Rajkumar 32, Kumar Shan 19 and Prince 15 runs.
For Nalanda, Ankit took 5 wickets, Vineet 2 and Mohit and Shivam took one wicket each.
In reply, Nalanda achieved the target by losing 8 wickets in 40 overs with the help of Mohit’s half century of 91 runs.
Mohit scored 91 runs in 87 balls with the help of 13 fours and 1 six. Apart from Mohit, Laxya Prakash contributed 44 runs, Vineet 21 scored runs, Neeraj remained unbeaten on 21 runs and Raj Guru contributed 14 runs.
Jahanabad bowler Prince Thakur took 4 wickets, Aditya, Rajkumar and Kumar Shan took one wicket each.
Nalanda’s Ankit Kumar (five wickets) and Mohit Kumar (91 runs and one wicket) were jointly given the Man of the Match.
