Patna: Andhra Pradesh were on the verge of an innings win against Bihar in their four-day Ranji Trophy match against Bihar at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday.
Resuming the day on 313 for five wickets, Andhra Pradesh amassed 46 3 runs in their first innings and took a commanding lead of 281 runs in their first innings. At the end of the third day’s play Bihar were 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Now, Andhra need just two Bihar wickets to register a comprehensive win. Bihar scored 182 runs in their first innings.
For Andhra Pradesh, Nitish Kumar Reddy played a brilliant inning of 159 runs. Apart from him Sheikh Rashid scored 91 runs. For Bihar, captain Ashutosh Aman took four wickets and Pratap took three wickets and Veer Pratap and Himanshu Singh took one wicket each.
Bihar could not do anything special in their second innings, and the Bihar batsmen faltered against accurate Andhra bowling. For Bihar, Babul Kumar was unbeaten on 34 runs and Himanshu Singh was unbeaten on 4 runs.
For Andhra Pradesh, Lalit Mohan took four wickets and Srikanth took three wickets.
