Patna: Patna captain Akash Raj scored a half-century (69) as Patna scored 262 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of the BCA Super League final against Rest of Shahabad Zone at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.
Earlier, Shahabad Zone won the toss and invited Patna to bat first. For Patna, other contributors were Piyush Kumar Singh 9, Ashish Kumar 20, Shasheem Rathore 17, Shlok Kumar 45, Yashaswi Shukla 20, Aman Raj 34 and Suraj Kashyap 23. Rahul Rathore was unbeaten on 5 while Shlok Kumar retired hurt.
For Rest of Shahabad Zone, Paramjeet Singh took 3/53, Hydayanand Singh 1/25, Ankit Singh 2/50, Samresh Kumar 2/69, Rahul Kumar 1/31.
Earlier, Bihar Government’s Home Department’s Additional Secretary Shirsat Kapil inaugurated the final match. He was also introduced to the players of both the teams. BCA President Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, PDCA Ad-Hoc Committee Chairman Rajesh Kumar, Bettiah District Cricket Association Secretary Raj Kumar, Bhojpur District Cricket Association President Manoj Pandey, Tournament Committee Convener Gyaneshwar Gautam, BCA GM Administration Neeraj Singh, GM Cricket Sunil Singh, GM Anti-Corruption Ajit Pandey and other officials were present on the occasion.
