Patna: On the third day of the 68th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship being played in Kottarakkara (Kerala), Bihar men beat Punjab 35-12, 35-25 in the second match, beat NCR Delhi in the third match 35-30, 35-13 and beat Gujarat in the fourth match 35-16, 35-21 to emerge pool E champions.
Giving this information, Secretary of Bihar State Ball Badminton Association Gouri Shankar said that for the first time the men’s team of Bihar got the distinction of being the pool champion in National Senior Ball Badminton Championship. With this, the men’s team of Bihar entered the pre-quarterfinals of the championship. Captain Deepak Prakash Ranjan, Badal, Rahul, Ankit, Raju played well for Bihar.
In a crucial league match of Pool ‘B’ of women’s section, Bihar defeated Puducherry 36-34, 35-31. For Bihar, Priya Singh, Sonali, Poonam, Yukta Rani, Priyanka performed brilliantly.
