Patna: Mala Sinha Gold Cup Under-15 cricket tournament got off to a colourful start on Monday at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here. In the inaugural match, Lakshya Cricket Academy defeated Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) by five wickets.
The tournament was jointly inaugurated by outgoing ward councillor- cum -mayor candidate of Patna Municipal Corporation Mala Sinha, social worker Sitesh Raman, BJP sports cell Bihar convenor Satish Raju and Vikas by releasing balloons in the air. They also got introduced to the players. Baijnath Prasad welcomed the guests by presenting them a memento. Organising secretary Santosh Tiwari proposed a vote of thanks. The stage was anchored by commentator Mrityunjay Jha.
Cricket Academy of Bihar won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 111 runs losing all wickets in 19.5 overs. In reply, Lakshya Cricket Academy scored 115 runs for five wickets in 15.4 overs. Anirudh of the winning team was adjudged man of the match.
The umpires of this match were Ashutosh Sinha, Rajesh Ranjan while Raja Kumar was the scorer.
