Patna: Ravi Kumar Mishra, Bhushan Mahato, Jitesh Kumar, Monu Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Manish Kumar won gold medals in the men’s section in the Jaynarayan Singh Memorial 2nd Bihar State Senior and Junior Grappling Wrestling Championship held at Ekta Marriage Hall (Banjaria) in Motihari on Sunday.
The two-day championship was organised by the East Champaran District Grappling Wrestling Committee under the auspices of Grappling Wrestling Committee of Bihar.
Nayana Kumari, Aarti Kumari, Jyoti Kumari won gold medal in women’s category. Saurabh Kumar, Shiv Shankar, Jaihind Kumar, Nazir Ansari, Sujit Kumar, Deepak Kumar bagged gold medals in junior boys’ category, Tamanna Kumari, Goldy Kumari, Ravita Kumari got gold medals in girls’ category.
The prizes were presented by Commander Home Guards (Motihari) Tripti Singh, Organising President Umesh Singh, General Secretary of the Bihar Grappling Wrestling Committee Gouri Shankar, and Convenor Ramesh Kumar alias Bholaji. District association President Vinod Jaiswal presided over the function. The guests were welcomed by District Secretary Keshav Krishna and Organising Secretary Deepak Singh Kashyap proposed a vote of thanks. Many sports lovers, including Dr Omprakash Gupta, Om Babu Gupta, Vijay Shah, Bhola Mahato, Utsav Kumar and Priyanka Nagvanshi were present on the occasion.
