Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Saharsa, is underway at the MLT College grounds in Saharsa. In today’s quarterfinal matches, Purnia, Buxar, Patna, and Siwan all secured victories to advance to the semi-finals.
In the first quarterfinal, Purnia dominated Khagaria with a resounding 5-0 victory. Raghni Kumari led the charge, scoring in the 22nd, 27th, and 42nd minutes. Rajina Marandi added a goal in the 34th minute, and Fancy Khatoon sealed the win with a goal in the 57th minute.
The second quarterfinal saw Buxar edge out Arwal 1-0, thanks to a crucial goal from Sneha Raj, earning Buxar a spot in the semi-finals.
Patna comfortably won the third quarterfinal, defeating Bhojpur 4-0. Khushi Kumari scored in the 13th minute, followed by Rishu Kumari’s penalty corner goal in the 38th minute. Ratan Priya and Akanksha Kumari added goals in the 41st and 52nd minutes, respectively, to secure the victory.
In the final quarterfinal of the day, Siwan triumphed over hosts Saharsa with a commanding 5-0 win. Siwan’s Shruti Kumari opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by goals from Palak Kumari in the 8th minute, Nazia Khatoon in the 23rd and 52nd minutes, and Khushi Kumari in the 38th minute.
The semi-finals will take place tomorrow, with Buxar facing Purnia in the first match, and Patna taking on Siwan in the second.
