Lucknow: The Yogi government in the state has launched Sarvodaya schools aimed at providing quality education to students from marginalised groups, including deprived sections of society, scheduled castes, tribes, and economically weaker sections. This initiative receives support from CSR.

In a significant move, the Security printing and minting corporation of India limited (Indian Government Mint) has allocated Rs 71 lakh to three Sarvodaya schools operated by the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department under CSR. This funding will strengthen smart classes and physics labs at schools in Badnaura (Bulandshahr), Nidori (Ghaziabad), and Hastinapur (Meerut).

About 103 Sarvodaya Schools being run in UP

Social Welfare Minister (Independent Charge) Asim Arun has expressed gratitude on behalf of the state government, the Social Welfare Department, and the children of schools for the initiative taken by the Indian Government Mint for the children of the weaker sections of society. He said that he hopes that in the future as well, the corporation will continue to provide such support through social responsibility for the welfare of marginalized groups, scheduled castes/tribes, and economically weaker sections.

It is noteworthy that the Social Welfare Department is operating 103 Sarvodaya schools across the state, where children from marginalized groups, scheduled castes/tribes, and economically weaker families are provided with free high-quality education, along with accommodation, meals, books, stationery, and uniforms. These schools also prepare children for competitive exams free of cost, aiming to enhance the representation of economically weaker sections in competitive exams.
