Roundglass Tennis Academy’s Hitesh Chauhan wins bronze in Tennis at the Khelo India Youth Games

Mohali: Roundglass Tennis Academy (RGTA) athlete Hitesh Chauhan won the bronze medal in Boys Singles at the ongoing 6th Khelo India Youth Games being held at Chennai. Representing Punjab, Hitesh who is currently ranked 8th in the U-18 category walked away with the Bronze medal earlier today.

Hitesh started his Khelo India campaign, defeating Gujarat’s Jevin Kanani in Round 1 and went on to win the quarterfinals against Tanishq Mukesh Jadhav of Maharashtra before falling to gold medal winner and Junior India Number 1, Rethin Pranav R.S of Tamil Nadu in the semi-final to eventually win the Bronze medal.

Renowned coach and Technical Director of Roundglass Tennis Academy, Aditya Sachdeva and team have been training Hitesh at the Academy and have helped him hone his skills and improve his game. Speaking on his win coach Sachdeva said, “Everyone at the Roundglass Tennis Academy is very happy with Hitesh’s achievement and this victory reflects our vision of Long-Term Athlete Development wherein we emphasize the importance of nurturing the young players for the future. At RGTA, we prioritize the wholistic growth of our athletes, both on and off the court. Our guiding principle is to consider the psychological well-being and happiness of the athletes as integral to our plans, alongside their performance on the court.”

The Roundglass training academy is a home to many budding tennis talents including Indian women’s tennis star, Karman Kaur Thandi. Hitesh has been training with Roundglass for some time now and the academy’s athletes have won many tournaments in various national and international junior tennis championships.
