Children in Specified Age Group Would be Provided Trainning of Kho Kho and Badminton Under NSTS

Bhagalpur: Under Non- Residential Sports Training Scheme (NSTS) of Bihar government, the RHMTB High School, Barari and Indoor Badminton Hall here have been respectively selected as centers for providing training of Kho-Kho and badminton to children in age group eight to fourteen years.

The selection of non- residential training centers was made in recent past at meeting held in state capital under chairmanship of Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of Bihar State Sports Directorate.

For the purpose of training, thirty trainees each would be selected for both the sports discipline on basis of battery test. The trainees would be provided scholarship of Rs 500 per month besides they would be also provided playing kits under the scheme.

In working days, the trainees would be provided training of minimum two hours and maximum four hour by selected trainers. Process has been already initiated for selection of specialized trainers for both the sports disciplines.

Residents of the district having successfully completed six-week certificate course conducted by National Institute of Sports the academic wing of Sports Authority of India would be given preference in selection of trainers, the department of arts, culture and youth has decided.

The NSTS it may be mentioned was launched in October last year primarily for tapping sporting talents of children and promotion of sports culture in state. The scheme aims at providing modern training facilities to players selected for training.

Under the scheme planned to be operated in all districts of state, children in specified age group would be provided training in different sports disciplines. Apart from schools and stadiums the district sports building and sports grounds would also be used for training purposes.
