Patna: Mumbai beat Bihar by an innings and 51 runs on the last day of the Ranji Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday. Bihar’s second innings folded at 100 runs. Earlier in the first innings also, Bihar were all out for 100 runs. Mumbai scored 251 runs in its first innings. In this match, Mumbai fast bowler Mohit Awasthi was chosen Man of the Match for his excellent performance. Mohit Awasthi dismissed a total of seven batsmen in both the innings of this match.

On the third day of the game, Bihar started playing ahead of the second day’s score of 89 runs for 6 wickets and after adding 11 runs the entire team was all out. On the third day, the seventh wicket of Bihar’s first innings fell in the form of captain Ashutosh Aman. Ashutosh Aman was out after scoring 7 runs. After this Veere Pratap Singh returned to the pavilion without opening his account. The ninth wicket fell in the form of Akash Raj.

Akash Raj, added 6 runs to his overnight score of 26 runs and became the victim of Mohit Awasthi on the score of 32 runs. One more run was added to the team’s score and the tenth wicket fell at 100 runs. Himanshu Singh was out after scoring 1 run.

BCA president Rakesh Tiwary hosts dinner for Mumbai team

On the third day of the match, Bihar Cricket Association president Rakesh Kumar Tiwari hosted a dinner for all the players and support staff of the Mumbai team. On this occasion, many IAS and IPS officers of the Bihar government also interacted with all the members of the Mumbai team.

Mumbai team was impressed by BCA’s hospitality and thanked it in the press conference after the match.
