Patna: Kilkari, Naugachia, Siwan, Begusarai moved into the semi-finals in the girls category of the 30th Bihar State Junior Ball Badminton Championship being played at Sahuria East (Saur Bazar)in Saharsa on Saturday.
In the boys category, Madhepura, Siwan, Samastipur, Naugachia, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Barh, Kilkari entered the quarter finals from their respective groups. Giving this information, Saharsa District Ball Badminton Association Secretary Anshu Kumar Mishra and Treasurer Dheeraj Samrat jointly said that the first semi-final match of the girls category will be played between Kilkari and Begusarai and the second semi-final match will be played between Siwan and Naugachia.
Today, the second day of play started with Gouri Shankar, Secretary of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association, being introduced to the players. On this occasion, Madhubani District Secretary Santosh Kumar Sharma, Siwan District Secretary Vishal Singh, Barh District Secretary Satish Kumar, Begusarai District Secretary Vikas Kumar, selectors Deepak Prakash Ranjan, Badal Kumar, Neha Rani, Madhepura coach Rupak Prakash Ranjan were present.
In the important matches of the boys category played today, Begusarai defeated Darbhanga 35-13,35-19, Siwan defeated Madhepura 35-09,35-19, Samastipur defeated East Champaran 35-16,35-17, Kilkari defeated Barh 35-09,35-16, Madhepura defeated Saharsa 35-15,35-16, Begusarai defeated Patna 35-16,35-20, Naugachia defeated Samastipur 35-09,35-20, Kaimur defeated Jamui 35- 24,35-29,Nawada defeated Sheohar 35-19,35-23,Siwan defeated Saharsa 35-04,35-10.
