Green Giants Win Bihar Women’s Premier Kho-Kho League Title

Patna: Green Giants won the title of the Bihar Women’s Kho-Kho League at St. Mary’s School in Masaurhi, near Patna, on Monday. The league was organised under the aegis of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar. In the final match, the Green Giants defeated the Red Rangers 29-18.

Earlier, in the first semi-final, the Red Rangers defeated the Golden Girls 50-20, while in the second semi-final, the Green Giants defeated the Pink Pioneers 38-17.

In the final match, there was a lot of hesitation between both teams about scoring points. The star player of the match was Shelly Kumari of Green Giants, who scored 14 points. Green’s Neetu Kumari scored 2 points. Sukanya of Red Rangers also played brilliantly. She not only scored 4 points but also troubled the opposition team by spending 3 minutes, 40 seconds on the court as a defender. Muskan Kumari scored two points and spent approximately 5 minutes and 10 seconds on the court as a defender.

Earlier, the Red Rangers defeated the Golden Girls 50-20 in the semi-finals. Sneha Nidhi scored 13 points, while Muskan Kumari scored 11 points for the Red Rangers. Gudiya Kumari from the Golden Girls scored 4 points. Gudiya Kamari’s performance as a defender was commendable. Sanjana Kumari scored 5 marks.

In the second semi-final, the Green Giants defeated the Pink Pioneers 38-17. Shaili Kumari scored six points, while Neetu Kumari scored 5 points. Roshni Kumari of the Yellow Yoddhas, Muskan Kumari of the Red Rangers was awarded best attacker, Shelly Kumari was adjudged best defender and Diksha of Red Rangers got player of the tournament award.

Earlier, before the start of the final, archbishop Sebastian Kallupura, SDM Masaurhi Preeti Kumari, Masaurhi Municipal Council Chairman Pinky Devi, SHO Sanjay Kumar, Kho-Kho Association of Bihar Secretary Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Rahul Chandra, director Vidya Vihar Education, manager of North Bihar Gramin Bank, Masaurhi, Rajinikanth, Jharkhand Throwball Association President Santosh Singh, Jharkhand Throwball’s MK Sharma, Dr Anand (PHC Masaurhi), Crane School’s Manoj Kumar, Armaan Sarwar, Sister Lily, Sister Sulekha, and Sister Matila were introduced to the players. They also gave away the prizes after the match. The principal of the school, Father Packiyam Baskar V, welcomed the guests, while Father Prabhu proposed a vote of thanks.

On this occasion, apart from the coaches, managers, and officials of the teams, all the concerned persons involved in making this event a success were felicitated. On this occasion, the students of the school enthralled everyone by presenting a cultural programme.
