Boys and girls learning skills of Mallakhamb in Ranchi

Ranchi: Under the aegis of the Ranchi District Mallakhamb Association, a ten-day Ranchi District Free Summer Mallakhamb Training Camp has been organised from May 19 to May 29 at Bangiya Cultural Council School, Sector-2, Dhurwa, Ranchi. On the fourth day of the camp, Jharkhand State Malkhamb Association’s chief instructor and national technical officer, Ajay Jha, taught the skills of pole mallakhamb, rope malkhamb, hanging mallakhamb, and pyramid one by one in detail on Monday.

About seventy players from all categories in Ranchi district are receiving training. Many new skills were taught in the camp every day from 6:30 am to 8:00 am by chief coach Ajay Jha, senior national players Anushikha Kumari, Rashim Kumari, Nikhil Kumar, and Rajeev Oraon. Today, mainly all the players, after a first warm-up by Ajay Jha, were asked to do skill-related yogasanas, Surya Namaskar, and many attractive pole pyramids .

General Secretary of Jharkhand State Markham Association, Ajay Jha, said that on the basis of this training camp, 20 boys and 20 girls will be selected for regular practice at Khelo India Kendra Jharkhand Malkhamb Academy. On the fourth day of the training camp, Jha said that some of these players could be selected for the Jharkhand team for the 37th National Games to be held in Goa.
