Gopalganj: Hosts Bihar entered the quarterfinals of the women’s section of the 44th Senior National Throwball Championship being played at Smart Move Academy courts at Panchdeori Block in Gopalganj district.
The Bihar team, playing in Pool B, won four matches out of five in the league round. Bihar were defeated by Tamil Nadu, while hosts Bihar beat Tripura, Rajasthan, Assam, and Punjab.
In both the men’s and women’s categories, the teams of Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu maintained their winning streak.
On the second day, King Maheshwar Pratap Shahi of Tamkuhi Raj State of UP came to encourage the players. He was introduced to the players and enjoyed the match. In his address, he praised its organiser and said that very noble work was being done. He said that sports are important in the life of every person. We get to learn a lot from sports. Organising secretary Rahul Sinha welcomed him by giving him bouquets and mementos.
