Patna: On the third day of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Inter District Cricket Tournament played at different venues of the state, Vaishali defeated Saran, Sitamarhi defeated Sheohar, Jamui defeated Banka, Katihar defeated Araria, Kaimur defeated Aurangabad and Muzaffarpur defeated Saharsa on Monday.
Vaishali defeat Saran
Vaishali defeated Saran by four wickets in a match under Patilputra Zone at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna. This was Saran’s second consecutive defeat.
Saran won the toss and decided to bat first. Saran were all for 126 runs off 35.1 overs. Prashant Singh scored 49 runs off 53 balls with the help of seven fours. Himanshu Kumar Sharma scored 14, Prashant Kumar Singh scored 12, Anoop Kumar scored 10 and Raju Kumar scored 13 runs.
For Vaishali, Anunay Narayan Singh, Anunay Kumar Jha, Aditya Anand took two wickets each while Ratnesh Singh bagged 3 wickets for 11 runs.
In reply, Vaishali had a poor start as they lost their openers Shivam Kumar and Sankey Kumar cheaply. Ratnesh Singh and Abhishek Kumar anchored the innings. Abhishek Anand batted well to guide Vaishali to a four-wicket win. Vaishali scored 131 runs for six wickets in 23.1 overs. Ratnesh Singh scored 56 runs in 60 balls with the help of 10 fours, Abhishek Kumar scored 20 runs in 23 balls with the help of 3 fours, Abhishek Anand scored 32 not out in 27 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six.
For Saran, Anup Kumar took two wickets while Prashant Kumar Singh, Raju Kumar, Prashant Singh and Prince took one wicket each.
Sitamarhi trounce Sheohar by 5 wickets
Darbhanga. Sitamarhi defeated Sheohar by 5 wickets in the second match of Mithila Zone BCA Senior Inter District Tournament. Sitamarhi won the toss and decided to field at Nehru Stadium Laheriasarai on Monday.
Electing to bat first, Sheohar were bundled out for 136 runs in 33.4 overs. Sheohar opener Akash scored 34, Manish scored 29, Sanjay scored 22 and Shahil scored 20 runs. For, Sitamarhi Rohit, Mukesh and Ankesh took two wickets each while Vipul, Praful and Madhav also one wicket each.
In reply, Sitamarhi raced to the target in 25.2 overs losing 5 wickets. Mukesh scored 31 not out, Kunal scored 26 and Praful scored 25 runs. Sheohar bowlers, Manish, Sanjay, Pushkal, Gajendra and Rohit took one wicket each. All-rounder Mukesh Sharma of Sitamarhi was adjudged Man of the Match.
Kaimur beat Aurangabad
Host Kaimur defeated Aurangabad by 3 wickets. Aurangabad won the toss and batting first scored 293 runs in 50 overs. For, Aurangabad Vipin Kumar scored 151 runs with the help of 20 fours and 5 sixes.
Apart from this, Harsh 33, Ayush 20, Karan 22 and Vivek 21 were the other scorers. Vikas Patel got 3 and Gupil and Dhanesh Chauhan got two wickets for Kaimur.
Chasing the huge target, hosts Kaimur achieved the target losing 7 wickets. Shashank (77), A Ali (52),Gupil (42) and Saif (38 not out) were the notable contributors. For Aurangabad, Ankush took 3 wickets while Chandan took 2 wickets.
Muzaffarpur beat Saharsa by 6 wickets
Muzaffarpur defeated Saharsa by 6 wickets in a match of Central Zone. Muzaffarpur won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Saharsa got all out after scoring 137 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Mohammad Jaffer scored 34 runs in 63 balls, while Aniket contributed 23 runs. Rahul and Naman Singh bagged three wickets each.
In reply, Muzaffarpur achieved the target in the 34th over. Atul scored 51 runs and Chiranjeevi Kumar contributed 26 runs for Muzaffarpur. Mohammad Sahil and Mohammad Zafar took one wicket each. Atul Priyakar was adjudged man of the match.
Katihar beat Araria
Katihar won the toss and invited Araria to bat first at Green Valley ground. Batting first, Araria made 139 runs in 40.2 overs. For Araria, Raja Babu scored 39 runs in 75 balls with the help of 5 fours and Karan Bhardwaj scored 26 runs in 25 balls with the help of 6 fours,.
Peter Mardi took 3 wickets for 14 runs and Priyanshu Shekhar took 3 wickets for 29 runs. Chasing 140 runs, thanks to the unbeaten century of captain Ankit Singh, Katihar won the match by 8 wickets. For Katihar, Ankit Singh scored an unbeaten 102 off 109 balls with the help of 14 fours and 2 sixes. Uttam and Nisar Ahmed took one wicket each from Araria.
Jamui defeat Banka
Jamui defeated Banka by 17 runs on Monday in the second league match of Angika Zone of BCA Inter District Cricket Tournament held at Sandys Compound in Bhagalpur. Banka won the toss and decided to field first.
Batting first, Jamui’s team scored 217 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Sandeep Rawat scored a century (101 runs). Sandeep faced 120 balls in his innings and hit 10 fours and one six. Prince Kumar scored 43 runs with the help of seven fours. Shivam Kumar Singh, Himanshu Singh, Md Rashid and Raghavendra Pratap took two wickets each.
Chasing the target of 217 runs, Banka were all out scoring 200 runs in 45.5 overs. Md Farhan Akhtar scored 45 runs with the help of two fours. Md Ishtiaq Alam contributed 35 runs with the help of 4 fours and two sixes. Puneet made 34 runs with the help of seven fours. Mayank Mehta and Shiv Sinha took three wickets each. Badal Kumar took 2 wickets.
