Nalanda beat Nawada, Darbhanga defeat Sheohar in BCA Inter District Cricket Tournament

Patna: Nalanda beat Nawada, Darbhanga beat Sheohar, East Champaran beat West Champaran, Bhagalpur beat Jamui, Kaimur beat Rohtas and Samastipur beat Begusarai in the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Inter District Cricket Tournament played at various centers of the state on Sunday.

However, the match between Purnia and Araria in Purnia was called off due to a wet pitch and will now be played on February 27.

Nalanda beat Nawada

At Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna, Nawada won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Nalanda scored 243 for 8 wickets in 50 overs with the help of Naman Gaurav’s 56 runs. Siddhath scored 37, Munna scored 28 and Rahul scored 32 runs.

For Nawada, Yashdeep, Pramod, Hrithik and Vaibhav took two wickets each.

In reply, Nawada scored 238 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs and lost the match by five runs. For Nawada, Sachin scored 37, Arslan scored 36, Pramod scored 39 not out, Avneesh scored 33 runs.

Nalanda tried a total of nine bowlers. Veer Pratap Singh, Ajit Kumar, Manish, Siddharth took two wickets each from Nalanda.

Bhagalpur beat Jamui

At Sandy’s Ground in Bhagalpur, Jamui won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first Bhagalpur  scored a mammoth score of 297 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 45 overs. Kumar Gaurav Raj scored an unbeaten century of 170 (134 balls). Gaurav hit 21 fours and six sixes in his innings. Captain Basukinath scored 38 runs with the help of 4 fours and a six. Wicketkeeper batsman Vikas Yadav scored 30 runs with the help of four fours.

For Jamui, Mayank Mehta and Badal took two wickets each. Shiv Sinha and Mantu Rai took one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 298 runs, Jamui were got all out for 60 runs in 21.2 overs. Rahul Kumar scored 21 runs. For Bhagalpur, Mohd  Shahabuddin and Sachin Kumar took three wickets each. Govinda and Vishnu took two wickets each.

Kaimur beat Rohtas

Kaimur made a winning start by defeating Rohtas by 57 runs with Wasim Ali’s all-round performance at the Jagjivan Stadium in Kaimur. Wasim performed brilliantly scoring 45 runs and taking 4 wickets. Later, he was declared the best player of the match.

Rohtas won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first in the 50-over match, Kaimur’s batsmen made a slow but steady start. Kaimur posted a score of 205 for 10 in 45.2 overs. Wasim  Ali top-scored for Kaimur with 45 runs.  Prince 37, Vikram Singh 32, Vikas Patel 30 were other notable contributors. For Rohtas, Tarun took 3 wickets for 32 runs and Sagar, Kumar S and Anshu took two wickets each. Manish and Omkar got one wicket each.

In reply, Rohtas batsmen also made a steady start in the beginning. At one stage, Rohtas were in a strong position by scoring 113 runs for 3 wickets but Wasim put a brake on it and spearheaded the middle order collapse of Rohtas. Finally, Rohtas were all out for 148 runs. Tarun fought single-handedly by scoring 68 runs from Rohtas. Siddharth scored 15 and Manish scored 11. For Kaimur, apart from Wasim’s 4 wickets, Vikas Patel and Md Parvez took two wickets each.

Darbhanga beat Sheohar

Darbhanga defeated Sheohar by 3 wickets on Sunday at Nehru Stadium Laheriasarai in Darbhanga. After winning the toss and electing to bat first in the scheduled 45 overs match, Sheohar were all out for 171 runs in 40.3 overs. Sheohar opener batsman Vikas Kumar scored 66 runs in 91 balls with the help of 8 fours and one six. Akash Singh scored 36 and captain Mrityunjay Singh scored 22.

Darbhanga’s bowler Subhash Chandra took 5 wickets by giving away 35 runs in 9 overs. Mayank took 3 wickets and Navneet Jha and Tripurari also took one wicket each.

In reply, Darbhanga scored 176 for 7 in 26.3 overs. Darbhanga opener and vice-captain Tripurari Keshav scored 58 runs in 61 balls with the help of 9 fours. Altamish scored 24, Navneet scored 22, Abhishek scored 20 and Shiv Pirashup scored 14 runs. Sheohar bolwer Pushkal Gautam took 4 wickets and Gajendra took 3 wickets. Subhash Chandra of Darbhanga was name man of the match.

East Champaran beat West Champaran

Electing to bat first after winning the toss at Sonpur Railway Ground, East Champaran scored  126/10 in 32.2 overs. Ashutosh Pandey scored with 46 runs while Adarsh, Sakibul and Shubham scored 23, 17 and 15 runs respectively. For West Champaran Rakesh (36/3), Himanshu (17/2) and Lokesh (19/2)  were the main wicket takers.

Chasing a small target, West Champaran  were all out for 95 runs. For East Champaran, Shubham Kumar Sinha (16/3), Mukesh (33/3), Sakibul (16/3) and Badal Kanojia (2/1 were the  successful bowlers.

Begusarai team

Samastipur beat Begusarai

At the Barauni Refinery Stadium in Begusarai, Samastipur won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Begusarai scored 261 for the loss of 6 wickets in the 50-over match. For Begusarai, Murari scored 120. Aditya Soni scored 78. Shubham Kumar got 2 wickets from Samastipur side and Rahul got 2 wickets.

In reply Samastipur achieved the target losing 6 wickets. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 92 runs for Samastipur , captain Ashfaq Khan scored 44 not out. For Begusarai Ram Vineet Saran got 2 wickets and Atul Prakash got 2 wickets.
